SCORM, AICC and cmi5 compliance
E-learning standards
An LMS that ignores the standards locks you in. DGTLMS reads the content you have already produced, runs it correctly, and returns your learning records in interoperable formats — including for distribution into platforms that are not our own.
SCORM 1.2 & SCORM 2004
The format is detected automatically on import: you upload your archive, and the platform identifies the version and the entry point. Content produced with Storyline, Captivate, iSpring, Rise or any other compliant authoring tool works without adaptation. For SCORM 2004, including 4th-edition packages:
The player displays progress in real time: the table-of-contents ticks update immediately, with three distinct states — passed, failed, not attempted. Success semantics are respected: a graded module must be passed, not merely completed.
xAPI and the build-in LRS
The platform embeds its own Learning Record Store. It receives three streams:
Every resource in the standard is implemented (Statementswith attachments, State, activity profile and agent profile, Activities, Agents — with concurrency handling, cursor-based pagination and the response formats defined by the specification.
A note of honesty: conformance is implemented, but validation against theADL LRS Test Suite has yet to be completed. We therefore describe it as ADL certification in progress, not as a certified LRS for the time being.
cmi5
cmi5 is supported on import and on export. This is especially useful for partner distribution: when you deliver a course to a client with a modern LMS, the cmi5 package gives them richer tracking than SCORM while remaining a standard import on their side. All three formats — SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 and cmi5 — can coexist for the same course.

Distribute your content into other platforms
Complying with the standards is not just about getting content in: it is also about getting it out. DGT Dispatcher generates SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or cmi5 packages that your clients upload into their LMS — Moodle, Cornerstone, 360Learning, Rise Up, in-house platform — while you keep tracking and access control.
Frequently asked questions
Will my Storyline modules work?
Yes. Storyline exports to SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or xAPI: all three are supported, with automatic format detection on import.
Can I take my content with me if I leave?
Your SCORM, xAPI and cmi5 packages remain your files and can be re-imported elsewhere. Content produced in the built-in editor and learning records are exportable. Reversibility is covered in the contract.
Is the LRS ADL-certified?
Not yet. The resources of the standard are implemented and validation against the ADL LRS Test Suite is under way. Until it has passed, we do not claim certification.
What is the difference between SCORM and xAPI for my project?
SCORM tracks a module played inside an LMS: progress, score, completion. xAPI records much finer-grained activity, including outside the platform. In practice, most organisations use SCORM day to day and xAPI for analysis — which is why the platform automatically translates SCORM results into xAPI statements.
